Mixologist Contest Experience & Results
A special thanks to everyone who came out to support
me on Wednesday night! What an amazing RUSH!! The pressure was intense
and the energy
was electrifying! They decided to make the
finals the "Top 10" djs instead of the anticipated "Top 5".
Noone knew who the finalists would be as the 93.1 judges announced
them one
set
after
another.
Then they called out, "Can we please have our next finalist, DJ Dakota
come to the booth! DJ Dakota!" I was ecstatic to have been chosen as
one of the finalists and I darted to
the booth
with
enthusiasm..ready
to
rock!
I
was told
to plan
my set
for 15-minutes and I did so, with a mix of the 93.1 Top 10, however,
into my second song, they whispered to me that I only had 5 minutes left!
That was a shocker since I wasn't able to play the different styles I
had planned. I ended what turned out to be a 7-minute set gracefully,
and I was fulfilled that my transitions were smooth and that I had done
my personal best.
I was honored to have been one of the top finalists! I didn't win, but
the guy who did, "O D Blaze" was SLAMMIN' and the event was
SO exciting!
A special thanks to my friends and fans who were there, and to 93.1
for holding a great event. I
hope you enjoy the cd that qualified me as one of the Top 20, that I
gave
to each
of
you who were there to support me! It should put you right back there
in front of the booth!
